1. Read only trilogies or stand-alones?
Trilogies (or longer series) for sure! I like stand-alones but I rarely read them or find ones I want to read though I also like longer stories.
2. Read only female or male authors?
I honestly couldn’t care less about this? I read books because of the stories, first and foremost. That being said, it’s probably half-half on my shelves.
I see a lot of people making a big deal out of this, saying they’re trying to read more female authors but wouldn’t you rather read a book because you think it might be interesting (regardless of the author’s gender – especially since some authors use pseudonyms anyway)?
3. Hardback or Paperback?
I cannot say it enough, PAPERBACKS RULE! I love hardbacks and I own a handful of hardbacks but they are big, heavy, expensive and not practical to carry around.
Plus, I constantly wonder/worry about the weight I’m putting on my shelves and if they’ll someday break – even though they’re basically brand-new, sturdy and show no signs of bending, much less breaking. It’s
I’m silly, I know.
4. All books become movies or TV shows?
TV shows, though I’ve seen more movie adaptations I think. I’m saying TV mostly because the ones I love the most are TV adaptations. Like Game of Thrones.
5. Read five pages per day or five books per week?
Five books per week! Especially in recent years, I just keep reading more and more. I read about 1-2hrs a day pretty much every day and sometimes even more than that.
6. Be a Professional reviewer or author?
Author! I’ve always wanted to publish a book, though it’s not a goal I’m actively striving for or something I’m desperate to do. Also, I’m kind of a basic bitch when I review. I could never write smart, in depth reviews for a living (though I wouldn’t mind trying).
7. Only read your top 20 books over and over or only read new books you’ve never read before?
Tough question! I love rereading and 20 books is a lot, I’m tempted to say that but I’m going with the option to only read new books. Even I would get bored only reading the same books over and over again. (In reality I’ll always choose and do both.)
8. Be a Librarian or a Bookseller?
BOOKSELLER! Bookstores have the most wonderful atmosphere! I’m comfortable in them, I could spend hours in them (which I have done before)! Literally everyone is always super nice. Some bookstores I’ve been to have cats, cafés, soft ambient music, sofas or just really comfortable seating…. Just thinking about a bookstore makes me happy!
I like libraries, don’t get me wrong but I’m deeply uncomfortable in libraries. I always think I’m making too much noise and bothering everyone and that kind of quiet is just maddening! I like music and background noise while I’m reading or studying. I’m used to the loudness of life! So, I go to libraries to borrow books but I never stay longer than I need to. Plus, I’ve always hated all the librarians I’ve ever met.
9. Only read your favourite genre, or every genre except your favourite genre?
Only read my favorite genre – Fantasy! I only read a few genres, like fantasy, sci-fi and contemporaries (though lots of fantasy subgenres) and I couldn’t stand not being to read them.
10. Only read physical books or ebooks?
Physical copies! Though in reality I read quite a lot of ebooks because they’re easier to obtain than physical copies and super practical most of the time. (And I don’t spend as much money).
I’m also adding this question below because I just feel like it fits the tag.
Do you prefer to buy books in bookstores or online?
Personally I like both! Ideally, I’d only buy in bookstores, but most of the bookstores in Portugal don’t have the books I want which is why most of the books I own I’ve bought online. (And it’s weird but I get the exact same warm, happy feeling whether I’m buying books online or in a bookstore.)
I’m going to tag (but if you don’t wanna do it it’s fine this is just for fun); but anyone who wants to do this is tagged too 🙂
