T5W: My Spring Reads

Top 5 Wednesday is a meme created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey, and is now hosted by Sam at ThoughtsOnTomes. You can find the topics in the goodreads group.

This week’s topic is – Spring Reads:Since it’s the first day of spring (in this hemisphere!), discuss books that remind you of spring, or genres you reach for in the spring, or books you plan on reading this spring!

I’ve decided to talk about the books I’m planning to read this spring since I’m not a huge fan of spring and the only books that remind of spring are romance books which I’m not a huge fan of either!

I’m planning to read a lot more than just five books this season, so this is going to be a slightly longer post. This is just a wishful tbr anyway, I might end up reading different things and that’s cool with me!

The City of Brass – S. A. Chakraborty

I’m rereading this because I just bought the most gorgeous hardcover edition of this one and because I’m also planning to read the sequel. (*I’m reading this for the stf2019 readathon this week).

The Kingdom of Copper by S. A. Chakraborty

I also got the most gorgeous hardcover edition for this one! I’m really fricking excited for this one, it’s one of my most anticipated reads of 2019. I love the first book and I can’t wait to find out what happens to all my favorite characters now!

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

I loved the movie adaptation, it was one of my favorite movies of 2018! So when I saw the movie edition on sale on Book Depository for just under seven euros, I just had to get it!

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

I’m buddy reading this with Shyla @ Words & Stiches in April. I’ve heard a lot of wonderful things about this book so I’m really excited to read it. (Plus, dragon wizards that are not what they seem taking girls from villages seems like something I’ll like).

A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold by George R. R. Martin

I finished reading the first part of A Storm of Swords earlier this month but for some reason I just haven’t been in the mood to start this one. I’m really excited to read it though! And I’m hoping to read this one, and even the next one with some luck, before the start of season 8!
